Sketch Design Build Inc. helped orchestrate the construction of this 330-square meter residential building, while local partner Big Glass Openings (BGO) carefully installed Reynaers Aluminium solutions to create a spectacular result. As BGO is led by the homeowner of South Water Flats, a personal touch is apparent in every detail of the impressive project.

South Water Flats is built to impress. Visitors can actually see through the house to reveal the lake behind it, all thanks to the impressive glazed entry with its feature pivot door. And what a lake view it is: a ConceptFolding 77 bi-folding door from Reynaers Aluminium, five metres wide and three metres tall, creates a seamless flow of interior to exterior living space in an instant. Next, structurally glazed corners allow even more wide-open views on the ground level. This combination of systems allows homeowners to take full advantage of the morning light.

Large ConceptWall 50 curtain walls, along with our ConceptSystem 77 windows and doors, add to the transparent nature of the home. The glass used in the windows is a mix of eco-friendly double and triple “low-e” glass. Adapted to the ever-changing Canadian climate, the reflective glass panes provide unrivalled thermal insulation to keep you and your family cool in the summer, or warm and cosy in the winter.

A luxury home of the future, South Water Flats features Reynaers Aluminium doors and windows with remote control elements. For example, you can activate exterior screens at a single push of a button, while motorised vents allow for optimal airflow through the entire house. Local partner Big Glass Openings expertly installed these custom solutions, and thanks to this Belgian-Canadian collaboration, large size panels up to 1,000 kilograms were placed in an instant.
