Administrative Centre Beveren
Governmental buildings serve an exemplary function and need to adhere to the highest environmental standards, fire protection and safety requirements. A challenge, yes. A problem? Not at all.
A few years ago, the municipality of Beveren was in desperate need of more space because their personnel had increased fivefold. The renovation and added extensions of their administrative building had reached its limits, so there was really only one solution: the construction of a completely new facility.
Architectural firm ORG Permanent Modernity won the public tender, and relied on Reynaers Aluminium’s expertise for the glass façade, screen systems and windows.
Unprecedented achievement
The building’s expansive windows feature the ConceptWall 50 glass façade system, integrating Renson screens up to 12 metres high – an unprecedented achievement due to the blinds’ extreme size. To fit within the minimalist aesthetic of the exterior, our ConceptWall 50 Fixscreen Minimal system discreetly hides the sun blind guides within the façade cover.
International recognition
The building boasts unique architectural elements, including columns along the façade designed as 3D sculptures and a mesh wall developed using advanced digital technology, which collectively give the structure its distinctive personality. It is no wonder this innovative building earned international acclaim, securing the Second Award in the Public Building category at the prestigious ‘Rethinking The Future Awards 2021’.
